Do the research, xylitol products prevent cavities!

A few years ago I did a research paper on Xylitol as part of course requirements for a BS in Dental Hygiene. Through this research I learned how xylitol can prevent tooth decay. Patients of mine who have a tendency to get cavities are educated to the benefits of xylitol.
A word of caution concerning xylitol products, to receive the optional effect (anti-cavities) one must consume quite a lot of xylitol which can cause stomach upset(gas and bloating) in some individuals.
